Cameron Mackie initially started building residential homes in 2002. He worked with city officials on permit approvals, and site plan approvals. After permit approval, he would continue managing contractors and completing design work during construction. He worked his way up to building custom homes and commercial plaza development.
During his years in the development industry, Cameron frequently ran into challenges with financing on his own projects as well as his clients. For this reason, Cameron decided to add financial services to his growing consulting company. With this new arm of service, he was able to negotiate lower prices on construction and save his clients thousands of dollars. Realizing the demand for financial services not only on construction but on all aspects, he continued expanding the financial services sector to include all the diverse products his company provides today.
By 2010 Cameron opened his first Dominion Lending Centres location in Oakville, Ontario. His vision was to create a seamless mortgage process and provide unbeatable mortgage rates for his clients.
Since 2010 he has produced record-breaking success. This has enabled him to grow a team of mortgage agents, administrators, and service staff to ensure every client has the best experience when using his brokerage.
Currently, Cameron has expanded to 10 offices, 8 of which are located in Ontario and 2 in Florida. Cameron has now been recognized as being the first Canadian mortgage broker to open client servicing branches in Naples and Miami Florida. His goal is to service the 500,000 Canadian Snowbirds while they escape the cold Canadian winters. Now Canadian’s can renew, refinance, purchase and even take out reverse mortgages all while they spend time in the sunshine state.
As of 2020, Dominion Lending Centres has recognized Cameron for his lifetime achievement in mortgage origination. With his record success, Cameron received one of the highest awards in the company, the Elite Hall of Fame award.
